CDF Ogolla was a symbol of humility

NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 20- Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has hailed Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla’s as a humble man, describing him as a model to be emulated.

Speaking on Saturday during the Late General Ogolla’s memorial Service, Mudavadi stated that he was a brilliant leader and not impulsive or emotional.

He pointed out that Ogolla gave very good thought to what he would say and what he intended to do.

“If there was an epitome of humility, then the general who has fallen is indeed a symbol of humility. We have lost somebody who was a true example of humility,” he said.

Mudavadi stated that Kenya lost a great man.

“He was truly a deserving and befitting leader of the military,” he says.

CDF Ogolla alongside, nine others lost their lives when the Bell Huey II helicopter that was ferrying him and his entourage went down moments after take-off in Elgeyo-Marakwet’s Keben area.

Ogolla is to be laid to rest on Sunday in accordance with his wish to be buried within 72 hours upon his demise.

The family of the late military Chief disclosed Friday that he will be buried without a casket in fulfillment of his wishes.

Ogolla’s family revealed Friday that the late CDF had already chosen his burial site in Mor village, in his Siaya home.

According to instructions documented in his will, Ogolla requested that his body be wrapped in sheets to alleviate any undue burden on his loved ones.
