Burial date for late Ex-KTN news anchor Michael Oyier revealed

Media personality Michael Oyier will be laid to rest on May 1st, 2024 in Homa Bay Count, the funeral committee has announced.

A requiem mass will be held on April 29, at the All Saints Cathedral Church in Nairobi to allow his friends, family, and relatives to pay their last respects to the departed journalist.

On April 26, a fundraiser will be held at All Saints Cathedral to help offset the hospital bill left behind by the deceased. Part of the money raised from the fundraiser will also be used to cater for other funeral expenses.

Michael Oyier passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.

“We, the family and friends of Michael, have opened this page to reach the wider community of friends and relatives to enable you to share fond memories, and condolences and to receive updates regarding the funeral arrangements,” read an update from Michael’s family. 

The statement adds; “Mike, the ever gentlemen, was a husband, a brother, an uncle and a friend to many. Feel free to share your condolences and fond memories and even pictures of our beloved Michael on this page as we keep his memory alive,”.

He was the second born in a family of 5 siblings

He was a father of two daughters (from two baby mamas)

Oyier ventured into PR after leaving KTN.

He also played as an MC in several events

Oyier worked as an anchor and presenter at Standard Group for nine years before exiting in 2012.

He later proceeded to offer counseling services and progressively became an executive leadership coach until his demise.
