Brenda Wairimu speaks on being cyber bullied for her TV character

Actress Brenda Wairimu walked away with the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series Zari Award 2024 at the just concluded Kalasha Award.

For this, she is eternally grateful.

Speaking to YouTube channel Beak Africa in an interview aired Thursday, April 4, the actress laughed at the pain her character always causes with audiences.

She acts as Lola on the show Zari.

“It’s such a young show, we don’t take it for granted, we work very hard, for the sake of entertaining you so for that we appreciate it so much that you keep on watching and loving our show” she praised fans.

Her movie/series characters ruffle feathers a lot with some sections of fans calling it ‘annoying’

“The secret is to understand the person that you are playing. As soon as you have understood her, then you will know how you should react in t his situation and what not. Alafu hizo vitu zingine ni kachumvi tu.” She shared her view

She calls it fun to act as a bad TV character.

“You know acting even for us actors, you forget your reality, it’s like actors make you forget, so even for me, it’s an escape because in person I’m not very confrontational. I don’t argue, I’ve not been in a fight in my life. “

Her screen roles though have landed her cyber bullying. She was asked what she makes of such responses to her TV roles

“I just let it flow. I know that it’s heightened emotions and from heightening emotions it must be a good thing. So maybe now and then there’s one or two people who get personal with it, but usually it’s okay.”
