Bonny Mwaitege finally speaks, warns those wishing death on him

Tanzanian gospel singer Bonny Mwaitege has finally spoken, a day after the spread of some fake news that he was dead.

Fake social media news reported that Bonny had died in a road accident on his way from Kenya.

In an interview with Millard Ayo, Mwaitege said was shocked when he first got calls from his close people.

“I had gone to Kenya and later to Burundi, after that, I went back to Tanzania. I started hearing the fake news when I was driving in my car,” he said.

He went on to explain;

“Right now the online business, people want likes, so they are trying to use false information to do so. There has been nothing I did that would raise such an alarm.”

He assured his fans that he was healthy and alive. 

“I am praying that God bless you. My fans are showing me love but they need to know that I am alive, no alarm should be raised,” he added.

He went on to warn those spreading fake news about him.

“I am not the only one who has been ‘killed’ on social media, my colleagues on social media have experienced that. This is the second time this is happened. They need to stop.”

He said his family was shocked by the fake news.

“I received calls from my parents, they were very shocked but everyone is okay now,” Bonny warned.
