Bomas CEO arrested, detained at EACC cells
Bomas Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Peter Gitaa Koria will spend the weekend in Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) cells pending arraignment on Monday over Ksh 8.5M procurement fraud.
Koria’s arrest comes after the DPP, earlier Friday, concurred with recommendations of EACC to charge him with Ksh.8,587,831 procurement fraud.
Confirming the arrest, EACC Spokesperson Eric Ngumbi said that the suspect is currently detained at EACC Integrity Centre Police Station, and will be arraigned on Monday.
On 18th April 24, Justice Nduma Nderi quashed Gitaa’s suspension and reinstated him back to office.
He was among 74 public officers including CEOs suspended from office on recommendations of EACC to the Head of Public Service, in Nov 2023.
