Bena Wa Malines and Mulamwah Try Frog Legs, Fans Amused

Three Kenyan celebrities, Bena Wa Malines, David Moya, and Mulamwah, are currently in China. The trio left Kenya a week ago with a packed itinerary.

“Shanghai has been amazing … the contrast between the old and new … truly a business hub in China,” Mulamwah captioned in a series of photos.

They are thoroughly enjoying exploring the cities and sampling unique delicacies, including frog legs.

“Already enjoying BEIJING! This is the Forbidden City—it’s mind-blowing! Made a new friend already. Visiting China, especially Beijing, should be on your bucket list. The city is rich in Chinese culture and governmental history. Loving it here; huku hakuna kulala (there’s no sleeping here),” Mulamwah added.

He also humorously used a popular TikTok audio, saying, “Nataka muniombee. Na ni mimi nilijiletea. I’m going through a lot of problems,” as he cringed while serving himself frog legs.

“Adjusting to the food in BEIJING CHINA 😖 hapa unapewa pili pili plain, wanasema hiyo ni non-spicy bana 😂,” he joked, his facial expressions sparking laughter among his fans.

Comedian Bena Wa Malines also tried the frog legs. “I’m nervous, but I’ll try. If it goes wrong, get me insurance, manze,” he joked before taking a bite.

His verdict? “Si mbaya, it doesn’t have ‘penon’—venom—si mbaya walahi. Can I have some more? You should try this,” he said as he continued feasting.

Frog legs, a delicacy in many parts of the world, especially in French and Chinese cuisine, resemble small chicken drumsticks in appearance.
