On Wednesday, Pope Francis sent a message of comfort to Kenyans as the country faces severe floods.

In his message on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, the Pope called for prayers for Kenya as the citizens face the harshness of the floods.

He said that he personally prays for Kenyans who are facing the effects of floods which have so far claimed the lives of about 200 people.

“I am spiritually close to the people of Kenya at this time when severe floods have cost many lives and caused extensive damage. Let us together pray for all those affected by this disaster,” the Pope said in his statement on the X website.

This comes in the wake of ongoing floods in the country that have caused loss of life and property.

The latest reports from the Kenya Red Cross indicate that at least 11 people, six of them in critical condition, had been relocated.
