Anini, Gen Z who told Raila to keep away from Anti-Tax demos, fiercely reacts to calls for dialogue

Anini, a young lady who went viral in June during the height of the anti-tax protests, urging ODM leader Raila Odinga to take a back seat, has reacted to his calls for dialogue with the government.

Anini went viral in a video where she told Raila Odinga that the youth had taken over the fight for freedom and that he should stay home while they protested.

Raila responded to her video at the time, saying he was a proud father watching the events unfold.

On Tuesday, July 9, at the KICC, Raila appeared with President Ruto after signing the IEBC Bill 2024 into law.

The two announced that a multi-sectoral dialogue would be initiated. However, the youth have rejected this, with Anini adding her voice:

“Agwambo, what are we bonging with them? Like on a serious note. What are we bonging with them? You’ve been bonging, and you know how they end! Kenyans are not ready for that again.

Tunasonga. Sisi tumesema hakuna leader. Hakuna mambo ya dialogue because we have been doing this. They know what we want. Jameni, we had issues from our ancestors, tafadhali, let’s not bong; instead, let’s see implementation.”

Several others, including Martha Karua and Eugene Wamalwa, have also rejected the call for dialogue. The multi-sectoral national dialogue conference is scheduled for July 15-20, 2024.

The six-day conference, spearheaded by President William Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga, aims to address Kenya’s ongoing crisis.
