Actor Jayden Fabio critics cab drivers for charging higher fares

Actor Jayden Fabio has criticized drivers who frustrate their passengers by hiking fare prices and called it out as robbery.

He asked the drivers who are tired of working with cab companies r to resign if they cannot align with the prices the company calculates.

Passengers in Nairobi reported cases where the digital taxi drivers have printed price list with higher fares than those calculated on the company app .

Sometimes the drivers demanded 1.5 times higher than the amount calculated by the app.

“Do not use someone’s company to frustrate clients ,there is no way I will request a cab from Runda to Two Rivers Mall only to reach the destination for the driver to pull up a printed hiked pricelist .That is robbery  by the laws of Kenya under penal code,section296. You all risk a jail term not less than 14yrs ,” Jayden warned the drivers.

He also asked passengers who find themselves in a situation where the driver does not alight them on their destination because they are unable to add the extra fee the driver is demanding for to record the drivers as thus is kidnapping .

He also asked the passengers to pay via mpesa so as to keep evidence for reporting such drivers .

“If you have requested for a cab and on reaching your destination the driver locks you in the car because you are unable to pay according to his printed price list ,record the driver without his knowledge because that is kidnaping. Also, make sure you pay via mpesa so that you can report the driver to the company he’s working for .Let them pay for what they are doing to passengers.” he concluded.

Jayden is a police officer who works with the Kenyan government.
