Gospel singer Bonny Mwaitege is not dead
Tanzanian gospel singer Bonny Mwaitege is not dead. The ‘Mke Mwema’ hitmaker was reported to have been involved in a grisly road accident, rumours that have been shut down by his wife.
The wife has confirmed that Mwaitege is alive and well.
Speaking to Millard Ayo, Mwaitege’s wife has been quoted saying “Bony Mwaitege is completely healthy, he has come from a journey from Kenya and has arrived home safely, he is resting.”
Kamba singer Stephen Kasolo has also shut down the claims of Mwaitege’s unsolicited death.
“I have confirmed that Bonny Mwaitege is okay. Someone is being used to ruin his name and spread fake news. Kenyans, lets stop posting about him, lets pray for him and lets pray for other musicians as well.”
Tanzanian gospel singer Christopher Mwahangila also flagged the rumours as fake news.
Some social media users had reported that Mwaitege was leaving a gospel concert when the fake accident happened.
Mwaitege is known for songs like ‘Sisi Sote’ ‘Mama Ni Mama’ ‘Maisha Ni Foleni’ ‘Utanitambuaje’ among others.
Mwaitege started music as a background vocalist and dancer at a Tanzanian musci band and later ventured out as a solo artiste.
