Brilliant reason Akothee has taken a hiatus from her music career
Artist and entrepreneur Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, has revealed the reason behind her hiatus away from singing.
Through her social media pages, Akothee admitted that she hasn’t been active in music for a while but clarified that this doesn’t mean she has retired from the art that has opened many doors for her brand’s success.
Defending her long time away from music, Akothee stated that once one has established their career, it’s important to use that platform to grow and strengthen oneself in other sectors.
“For those wondering if I’ve stopped singing: everything has its time. You build your career first, then use that career to enhance your other abilities,” Akothee said.
Akothee mentioned that she is currently in school learning about personal development and will return to the music scene with full force in 2027.
She urged her fans to continue enjoying her previous musical works, promising that her return in 2027 will be grand, unique, and unexpected.
“For now, I am back in school for my personal growth, but I will return to music in 2027. In the meantime, subscribe to my YouTube channel and enjoy TBTS. Especially my Sibuor Madhako album,” she said.
Akothee is one of the few female artists to make a significant impact in the Kenyan music industry, which is largely dominated by male artists.
Through her music career, the mother of five has built a unique empire and established her own travel company. She has also partnered with many brands as a sales ambassador.
Additionally, she has started a school to provide education for children from underprivileged communities, saying that this initiative was driven by the hardships she faced in her childhood in pursuit of education, ultimately graduating from university after more than 14 years.
