Ministry to announce new fee structure for KUCCPS-placed first-year students

Ministry of Education Principal Secretary Beatrice Inyangala has announced that a new fee structure will be issued starting August 5 for first-year students placed in universities by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).

In addition, she advised parents to disregard previous communications from institutions regarding fees.

“The Ministry of Education wishes to inform the public, particularly parents and guardians of students, that the fees previously communicated in the admission letters for each degree programme are nullified and no longer apply,” Inyangala stated.

She added, “Beginning August 5, the respective universities will communicate the new fees to be paid by each student as household contribution.”

However, the ministry confirmed that the placement of students in their respective academic programmes remains unchanged.

“We wish to confirm that their places in the academic programmes are firmly secured,” Inyangala said.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has placed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2023 cohort of students in various degree programmes, and the respective universities will communicate the updated information to the students.
