Pastor detained after human body parts found in car at Bungoma carwash
Police in Webuye East are holding a self-proclaimed clergyman for investigation after human body parts were discovered in his car at a carwash located at Amazing petrol station in Bungoma’s Masikhu market earlier on Monday.
According to Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) reports, the suspect, identified as Levis Simiyu and a pastor at a local ministry in Ndivisi Ward, had taken his Toyota Premio for a body wash when the disturbing find was made.
“It was when the service guy was making the final touches at the boot that he noticed a protruding human leg, partly burnt and resting atop other such parts,” the report read in part.
The discovery prompted the carwash attendant to alert the petrol station manager, who quickly informed the police at Webuye station.
According to the DCI, officers arrived promptly and apprehended the suspect before he could leave the premises.
The suspect is in custody and assisting with investigations while the recovered body parts have been taken to Webuye County Hospital morgue for preservation and further analysis.
