Christina Shusho’s cryptic message excites Kenyans

Shusha Nyavu singer Christina Shusho has a message to share with citizens of the world. She began by cautioning about how to take her message, “This is for a common mwananchi. For the people, by the people. Punguza makeup.”

The Tanzanian singer spoke on her social media about how people struggle with being their authentic selves, fearing that others will not like or accept them as they are. “I have time and I want to pass on a message. I haven’t done my makeup because of 7 days of prayer. And I began to think, you know sometimes si lazima uweke makeup. Kwa sababu maisha tulivyonao sasa hivi, tunaweka makeup. Sio makeup tu ya uso. This is what I mean, not just face makeup. Hadi maisha, kuna mtu tabia, anaweka makeup, biashara anaweka makeup, yani you hide everything. Wearing makeup, you are hiding something.”

The Gospel minister said this teaches us not to be genuine. “When a woman sometimes wears makeup, you are hiding flaws, maybe it’s old age, wrinkles, anaficha vitu ambao haziko sawa usoni. So that akae vizuri, right? Similarly, there are people hiding their behavior under makeup, akija mbele ya watu, makeup sana, kwenye mambo yake. Character ni makeup, na umpate off guard, hajaweka makeup kwenye character yake, hutaamini kenye unaona.”

She advised that you could improve and be authentic by acknowledging internal and external influences. “Utasema huyu ni yule namjua au ningoje mwingine? Vile tunavyomgoja Yesu. So makeup is good kwenye mambo yote, but ni vizuri tufanye effort kuhakikisha kwamba unaeza ukaishi bila makeup. Unajenga sura ambayo, kuna siku inaeza kaa bila makeup, and you will be okay. Then unaeza jenga tabia, ambayo sio lazima uweke makeup, ndio uonekane mtu mwema.”

“Unaweza ukakaa bila makeup kwa tabia yako. Usiweke zile vitu ambazo zinafanya uonekane mzuri, ilhali unajua ndani kwako, kabisa wewe mwenyewe tabia zako zingine si nzuri, lakini ukienda mbele za watu unaweka makeup kwenye character. So watu wanadhani ni mtu mwema lakini deep inside, kwenye nia yako ya siri you know yourself that something is so wrong with you.”

She advised how to value relationships. “So learn jifunze kuwa maisha ambayo itakuwa real, without makeup. Your character, your real bila makeup. Your behavior is real, bila makeup. Na mambo yako pia, kazi yako iwe real, what you say is what you mean. Si makeup. There are some people who love talking while wearing makeup, they say this but do things differently. It’s so boring. But try not to put makeup on your face. God bless you.”
