Nyce Wanjeri – I first used tissue in form one

Former Auntie Boss actress Nyce Wanjeri has taken her fans down memory lane, reminiscing about her childhood.

Through her Instagram page, Nyce Wanjeri recounted the first time in her life she encountered the use of toilet paper.

Wanjeri, who welcomed her first child with her husband Leting a year ago, surprised some of her fans by revealing that in her childhood, she never used toilet paper in the bathroom until she entered high school.

This means that throughout her primary school years, Wanjeri used other methods to ensure cleanliness after using the toilet.

“How old were you when you started using toilet paper? For me, it was from form one,” she said.

Wanjeri said that entering high school provided her with the rare opportunity to use toilet paper, as its use was seen as a luxury for the well-off.

She mentioned that they had to use tree leaves and sometimes newspapers that her grandfather would get from a hotel shop near their home.

“Before, it was leaves and newspaper that guka would get from a certain hotel,” she recalled.

This confession attracted comments from some who remembered using similar alternative methods to ensure hygiene after using the toilet.

“Firstly, those leaves used to grow near the toilet… I don’t know if it was because of the ‘fertilizer,'” @melissakaboi wrote.

“The first was the blue one 😂. At around 10 years old folks,” added @wanjikuwanjiku.

“I only learned about things like tissue when I was in college, but I used it only at school. When I got home in Shamakhokho, we used another original tissue called KAMANG, only Luhyas understand,” @kibindutiktoker penned.

What are your memories of the first time you used toilet paper, and when was it?
