Bahati’s late-night letter to Ruto as anti-finance bill protests rock Kenya
Renowned artist and reality TV star Bahati penned a late-night letter to President William Ruto as anti-finance bill protests rock Kenya.
Bahati was appealing to the head of State to listen to Kenyans who are opposing the Finance Bill 2024.
The artist had previously engaged in politics as he was vying for an MP seat but lost under the Jubilee party in the 2022 General elections.
His first letter read’
Dear Mr President have Read, understood, and Rejected the 2024 Finance Bill. One thing that does not sit well with me is the New Taxes imposed on the Creatives. With so Much Burden We do so much to Entertain and It’s unfair to Take away the Little We have Left to feed our Families. Therefore; as for Me, My Wife, and Kids We #RejecttheFinanceBill2024 ✍Regards, Bahati.
In his second letter, he added,
The artist stated that, “KIONGOS! Ukiwezaa Sahiii Sahiii Vaa ile Ngepa yako ujifiche na Mask… Ukiweza pia Toroka Security ambia ule Boyz wako Sudi akuitishie Uber ama Bolt alafu ingia Ground Kimya Kimya for Just 1 hour.”
He continued by saying “Mimi niko Sure Utabadilisha Msimamo na Kabla urudi State House utaita presser u Cancel hii Kitu Before Midnight. The Nation Wants this Bill Rejected not Amended. Alafu watu Wakona Hasira sana ata Mtu akichelewa Kusema REJECT hapa online wanamtolea Hasira Bureeeee!”
“Mr President Mimi Najua Nilianguka Mathare Sauti yangu Sio Rahisi ikufikie Lakini Everyone in Kenya Cannot be wrong 🙏 #RejectFinanceBill2024 WATOTO WANGU NI GEN – ALPHA NA WAMENI – THREAT NISIPOENDA MAANDAMANO KESHO WATANI CANCEL PIA 😂😂😂 KAMA MGETTO HIO CANCEL SIELEWI NI NINI BUT NAJUA SIO KITU POA! SO WADAU NIAMBIENI NAFAAA KUBEBA NINI AS PREPARATIONS FOR THIS GREAT DAY TOMORROW 🙆♂️” he concluded.
