Brian Chira’s family breaks silence following tragic death
Hours after reports circulated on social media about the death of TikToker Brian Chira in a road accident, his family has broken their silence regarding these reports.
After arriving at City Mortuary in Nairobi where Chira was admitted, the family verified and confirmed that it was indeed Brian Chira’s body.
They confirmed to journalists that Brian Chira had indeed passed away, and what they requested was financial assistance from Kenyans to give Chira a proper burial, but also they asked for prayers during this difficult time.
“The TikTok community and all his fans, it’s true, Chira has passed away. He has died, and please pray to God to give us strength. We have come here to the mortuary and seen what happened; he was involved in a serious road accident, he suffered a head injury,” one family member said.
“I kindly request that we come together if you loved Chira. Now he’s gone, and we have to organize everything. Even if he was your adversary, Chira was a good young man, I know many are hurting like me, but everything is fine, we must trust in God,” he added.
Reports of Chira’s death spread on social media on Saturday afternoon. According to Police speaking to The Star, Chira died as a result of an accident he was involved in, in the Karuri area.
It is reported that his body was collected from the scene on Saturday and taken to the City mortuary at around three in the morning.
According to The Star newspaper, Brian Chira’s body was admitted to the City mortuary with injuries to his face.
Police also said the deceased was at a bar in Gacharage area and later caused a commotion. He was then forced out. Later, he took a motorcycle to his home and alighted before attempting to cross on foot.
A speeding lorry hit him and sped off. It did not stop, witnesses and police said. The matter is under investigation.
News of his death spread on social media with many mourning him.
