I’m the one who returned Nyashinski to the music scene
Dancehall star KRG The Don now alleges that he is the one who has made the careers of most Kenyan musicians among them Nyashinski.
According to KRG, he is the producer behind Nyashinski’s hit ‘ Now You Know.
Speaking to local blogs in a joined interview, he stated;
“There is no artist who I haven’t worked with in Kenya, I am the one who produced the song ‘Now You Know’. I returned Nyashinski to the music scene,”.
“You should respect me. I may be quiet but I know a lot of stuff. When I came in the Kenyan industry was on its deathbed. There were only three well-known artistes among them Khaligraph, Timmy T Dat, and NaiBoi. All the other artists I have worked with, I have even gifted producers equipment.”
However, across check done by this writer indicates that Nyashinski’s Now You Know song was produced by Kenyan music producer Beat ya Keggah who stays in the US.
In a past interview on CTA, Keggah said ‘Now You Know’ was a gift to Kenyans from him as long as Nyashinski was coming back heavy.
“The intro for now you know was a little sample he heard in the car and he said play it again in as much as it wasn’t a track but I put it on repeat and he told me to finish the loop I had.
I finished and plugged in the whole thing and he went into the booth, closed the curtain, and turned off the lights I walked out to get drinks and water because the sound engineer knew that it was going to be a long night. I walked out and came back, he was done, He did it in six minutes.
“We went and played pool and bowling and we went to eat he refused to eat meat so we had Thai food. I think he’s vegetarian or something.
“I sent him the final thing and he said weh, we have a banger. For the video, I was not going to risk it so I flew in VJOne.” Keggah shared
KRG also responded to Otile Brown who claimed there are no Kenyan artists who meet international standards.
“Once you cross Kenyatta International Airport, you are an international artist.
Plus people abroad listen to Kenyan music,” KRG said.
