Kenya Power announces temporary shutdown of prepaid token system




Kenya Power has announced a disruption of its prepaid system scheduled to occur from Sunday 2nd June  to Monday 3rd June, 2024.

In a notice released on Monday, May 27, Kenya Power informed its customers that the prepaid vending system will be unavailable during the scheduled maintenance period.

“During the period, customers will not be able to buy electricity from all the vending points including Kenya Power offices, M-PESA Paybill number 888880, Airtel Money and banking channels,” the statement reads.

The company has advised all prepaid customers to plan accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.

“We therefore wish to advise our prepaid customers to buy enough tokens before then to avoid any inconvenience.”
