NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 13 – Kisii Deputy Governor Robert Monda has arrived in Senate to present his defence in day-long impeachment hearing ahead of tomorrow’s vote.
The Senate is expected to begin hearing of the impeachment charges.
The hearing comes after the House resolved to alter its meeting schedule for Wednesday and Thursday, which will mark the final day for the Senate to vote on whether to support or oppose Monda’s impeachment.
The Deputy Governor was impeached on February 29, 2024, by members of the Kisii County Assembly amid accusations of abuse of office and bribery.
