3,000 people to be evacuated to various shelters in Nairobi » Capital News
NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 24 – The Nairobi County Government intends to evacuate at least 3,000 to shelters where they can have access to food and other humanitarian assistance.
City Governor Johnson Sakaja stated that the county has rolled out a large-scale co-ordinated response operation in a bid to avert a humanitarian crisis.
The Governor has further ordered the suspension of all excavations along riparian areas.
Meanwhile all inhabitants along riverbeds and high areas will be required to re- locate to high grounds or shelters provided by the county.
Sakaja advised city resident to use hotline number 1508 to access the County Government Emergency services.
