Ruto: I’m the man for Kenya’s toughest job
President William Ruto has reaffirmed his commitment to leading Kenya through transformative change, asserting that he has no excuses for failing to fulfil his mandate.
Speaking at State House during a meeting with a delegation of leaders from Tharaka Nithi County, the President stated that his blend of experience, education, and grassroots background uniquely positions him to address the country’s most pressing challenges.
“Others before me may have had reasons for inaction – some might blame their education, others their age, or their grasp of the issues facing ordinary Kenyans,” Ruto said. “But I have no such excuses. I must undertake this difficult job.”
President Ruto highlighted his 15 years as a Member of Parliament and a decade-long tenure as Deputy President as invaluable preparation for the presidency.
“I am not too old, I’m well-educated – Kenya’s first PhD holder in office—and I come from the grassroots. I understand the country’s problems firsthand,” he added.
The Head of State remarked that Kenya has never had a leader with the combination of courage, knowledge, and technical capacity that he brings to the position.
“I must tackle all the difficult assignments. I have combined all my predecessors. I have the courage of Jomo Kenyatta, the understanding of Daniel Moi, the education of Mwai Kibaki, and I shared in the plan with Uhuru Kenyatta. So, I must deliver,” he declared.
He underscored his administration’s determination to transform agriculture, stabilize the economy, overhaul healthcare, and modernize infrastructure.
“This is the assignment I have, and I must do it,” said the President, urging Kenyans to support and pray for him as he strives to turn around the country.
