UDA holds strategic retreat with 9 aspirants eyeing Mbeere North seat

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is consolidating support in Mbeere North ahead of the upcoming by-election.

Nine aspirants seeking the party’s ticket convened for a two-day retreat in Naivasha, where UDA leadership assured them of a transparent and credible nomination process. The party also reaffirmed its commitment to unity, development, and servant leadership.

The meeting, led by party chairperson Cecily Mbarire, emphasised the values of integrity, inclusivity, and fairness.

The Mbeere North parliamentary seat became vacant following the appointment of former MP Geoffrey Ruku as Cabinet Secretary for Public Service.

“This important gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on the needs of the people of Mbeere North and to engage in open, constructive dialogue on key development priorities in the region”, read part of the official statement by the party dated July 27, 2025.

The leaders collectively expressed their appreciation for Geoffrey Ruku’s appointment as Cabinet Secretary, describing it as a testament to the value of inclusive governance and a reflection of the region’s growing influence in national affairs.

The retreat also served as a platform to review current and future development initiatives, identify challenges facing the constituency, and explore effective solutions that can transform the lives of the people.

The party reaffirmed its dedication to democratic principles and encouraged all aspirants to contribute positively not only to the campaign but to the continued growth of the Constituency, the County, and the Nation.

“UDA stands strong in the belief that leadership is about service, and that collective vision delivers lasting change”, the party said.
