Six people killed in Narok accident

Six people have been confirmed dead and seven others injured in a road accident along the Narok-Mulot road.

The accident involving two vehicles occurred near the Silanka area about four kilometres from Narok town.

According to a police report, the driver of a Subaru Forrester collided head-on with a Toyota Sienta with six occupants while trying to overtake.

“.. the Toyota Sienta was heading towards Mulot general direction while Subaru Forester was heading towards Narok general direction. Upon reaching the scene of the accident, the vehicles collided head-on when Subaru Forester tried to overtake another motor vehicle” read the police report.

“As a result of the accident, the driver of Toyota Sienta and five unknown occupants died on the spot due to the impact. The bodies were removed to Narok District Hospital Mortuary pending identification and postmortem” it said.

The driver of Subaru Forester suffered chest pains and was rushed to Cottage Hospital.

Both motor vehicles were towed to the Narok Police station yard pending inspection.

The bodies were taken to Narok District Hospital Mortuary.
