I am proud to have Kindiki as my Deputy – Ruto

President William Ruto has expressed his pride in having Prof. Kithure Kindiki as his deputy, highlighting Kindiki’s dedication, leadership qualities, and commitment to serving the people of Kenya.

The head of state praised Kindiki’s strong work ethic and his role in advancing the Kenya Kwanza government’s transformation agenda.

“Nawashukuru sana watu wa sehemu hii (Mt. Kenya East) kwa kunipatia huyu muungwana anaitwa Professor Kithure Kindiki. Niwaambie sasa niko na Deputy. Anaelewa mambo ya barabara, anajua mambo ya stima, na anajua mpango wa serikali ya SHA. Ni mtu muadilifu. (I am very grateful to the people of this region (Mt. Kenya East) for giving me this gentleman called Professor Kithure Kindiki. Let me tell you, I now have a Deputy. He understands issues related to roads, knows about electricity, and is aware of the government’s SHA plan. He is an honest man),” he said at an event in Meru on Monday.

In an apparent reference to the support he received from former deputy Rigathi Gachagua, Ruto stated that Kindiki has proven to be a reliable principal assistant who possesses a better understanding of how government operates.

“Deputy President Kithure Kindiki is helping me to push the development agenda forward. You see him in various places doing this. I am very proud to have a deputy who understands the government and what we are doing in agriculture, infrastructure, education, health, and who supports the ministers and me to ensure that Kenya is going forward,” he added.

The president praised Kindiki’s attitude and personal temperament, which he believes will enhance his administration’s ability to serve Kenyans more effectively than before.

“Deputy President Kithure Kindiki is not a person of bitterness, anger, hatred, or tribalism. He understands that the Deputy President is not just for Meru but for the Republic of Kenya. That is the man I have. Let us continue in this manner,” remarked Ruto.
