ACK Nairobi Diocese set to elect new bishop

The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) is set to elect a new bishop for the Nairobi Diocese.

23 delegates will gather this morning at ACK St. Stephen’s Cathedral on Jogoo Road to choose the third bishop of the Diocese, following the retirement of Bishop Joel Waweru in September.

Three candidates are vying for the position: Jonathan Kabiru, Joshua Omungo, and Dr. Sammy Wainaina.

“A closed session will be held for the relevant parties involved in the electoral process. The announcement of the new bishop-elect will be made by the Chairman of the Electoral College, who is also the Diocesan Chancellor,” said Administrative Secretary Ven. Canon Geoffrey Okapisi.

“This announcement will be shared on our social media platforms shortly thereafter,” he added.
