33 High Court judges reshuffled in changes by CJ Koome » Capital News
NAIROBI Kenya, Dec 18 – Thirty-three High Court judges have been transferred in changes announced by Chief Justice Martha Koome.
A notice issued by Principal Judge Eric Ogola pointed out that Nixon Sifuna has been moved from the Commercial Division in Nairobi to the Civil Division while Antony Mrima has been transferred from the Kitale Court to the Civil Division in Nairobi.
“Greetings from the Office of the Principal Judge This is to bring to your notice that the Hon. Chief Justice of the Republic of Kenya and President of the Supreme Court has effected the following transfers as indicated in the list below,” the notice stated.
Justice Alfred Mabeya has been moved from the Commercial and Tax Division in Nairobi to Kisumu as a principal judge.
Lady Justice Roselyne Aburili moved from Kisumu to the Judicial Review Division in Nairobi as a principal judge while Justice Edward Muriithi has been taken from Meru to Kerugoya as a principal judge.
Lady Justice Cecilia Githua remains in Murang’a but has been elevated to principal judge while Lady Justice Christine Meoli moves from the Civil Division in Nairobi to Kajiado as principal judge.
Lady Justice Esther Maina was transferred from the Anti-Corruption and Crimes Division Court in Nairobi to Machakos station.
Similarly, Justices Ole Francis Odhiambo and Margaret Mungai were transferred from their Machakos station to Marsabit and the Criminal Division in Nairobi respectively.
Justices Richard Mwongo of Kerungoya and his Murang’a Counterpart James Wakianga were transferred to the Embu and the Nairobi Criminal Division in Makadara respectively.
Justices Francis Andayi and his Mombasa Counterpart Jukius Kipkosgei were transferred to Kwale and Bomet stations while Justice Joe Omido was transferred from Civil Division in Nairobi to Kisumu.
Additionally, Lady Justices Tabitha Oyua and Rhoda Rutto were transferred from the Nairobi Civil and Commercial divisions respectively to their Murang’a and Machakos stations.
