2 people dead, 10 injured after bus rammed into a stalled oil tanker in Kikuyu » Capital News

NAIROBI Kenya, Apr 6- Two people have lost their lives and 10 have sustained serious injuries following an accident involving Eldoret Express bus and oil tanker in Muguga, Kiambu County.

Kikuyu Police Commander Ronald Kirui said the bus was heading to Nairobi from Nakuru rammed into a fuel tanker stalled on the road.

The driver had lost control and hit the oil tanker from behind.

“We had two fatalities and more than ten were rushed to hospitals. The area is now wet due to rains, and we urge drivers to be careful,” he said.

Police took the injured to different hospitals in the Kikuyu area and moved the two bodies to P.C.E.A Thogoto Hospital Mortuary.

Kirui urged all drivers to exercise caution on the roads regardless of the weather condition for the safety of passengers.

He said traffic police have launched investigations the fatal accident. 

“As of now we cannot tell what really caused the accident, but our traffic officers have embarked on investigations,” he said.
