A mural honoring the late actress Winnie Bwire has been unveiled in Mombasa. Over the weekend, a group of Kenyans gathered at the site of the mural to light candles in a vigil celebrating her life.
In a touching video from the event, mourners are seen wiping away tears and reflecting on Bwire’s legacy as they viewed the mural, located at the Little Theatre Club.
Bwire, also known as Dida for her role in the TV series Sultana, passed away on September 5 while receiving cancer treatment in Turkey.
Her family announced her death in a statement, expressing their gratitude for the support she received.
“It is with heavy hearts and humble acceptance that we announce Winfred Bwire Ndubi lost her battle with cancer while undergoing treatment in Turkey. We thank you all for your overwhelming support, prayers, and generosity.”
