Dan Sonko’s Tearfully Eulogises Late Ex Winfred Bwire
Dan Sonko, the ex-partner of the late actress Winfred Bwire Ndubi, also known as Dida, was among the guests at her memorial service.
The event, titled ‘The Last Dance,’ took place at Mount Zion in honour of the beloved actress. An emotional Dan shared that they had held onto hope that Bwire would overcome her battle with cancer and return home healthy.
“Our prayer was that she would emerge victorious. In God’s way, this is a form of victory for her. She is no longer in pain,” Dan said, his voice choked with emotion.
Unable to continue, he broke down in tears and was visibly overcome during the candle-lighting vigil held in Dida’s memory.
In a past interview with Lizz Ngugi, Bwire had disclosed that she and Dan had parted ways but remained close friends. She explained that they both had personal challenges but found support in each other.
“I started from scratch. I met my best friend in the whole wide world, and we decided to walk this journey together. Dan had lost his wife Dru while she was giving birth to their second son. He was trying to rebuild his life, and that’s how we came together. It was genuine because we were best friends,” Bwire shared.
