Ayra Star – I’ve Never Actually Been in Love

Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has revealed that she has never been in love.

In a recent interview with Dazed Magazine, the “Rush” hitmaker disclosed that she has never been in love and would love to experience it someday.

The 22-year-old artist from Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records admitted that she has felt something like love in the past, but it wasn’t in a committed or intentional relationship.

Despite being called a “lover girl,” Ayra Starr, who graced the cover of the latest issue of the UK’s entertainment magazine, said that she has never been in a committed relationship.

“I want to fall in love. I wrote ‘Lagos Love Story’ about what love might look like if I were in it. I’m a lover girl at heart, I’m really strong on it. But I’ve never actually been in love. I’ve been in certain situations—not entanglements!—but I’ve never been in a fully committed relationship.”

“I’ve put myself out there and tried to see what’s out there, but I don’t think I’ve had the time. I’ve been working since I was 15, I was modeling, I was in university, and now I’m on the road.”
