Murder suspect Kevin Kangethe denied bail by a US court
A US court has denied Kevin Kangethe bail and bond after pleading not guilty to the murder of Margaret Mbitu.
The case is set for pre-trail on November 5.
Kevin appeared before Suffolk Superior Court in Boston.
He was arrested in Westlands on January 30, 2024, and was to be extradited when he escaped from custody.
Kang’ethe, 40 is facing charges in connection with the death of Margaret Mbitu on October 31, 2023.


Massachusetts State Police said in early November 2023, Kang’ethe left Mbitu’s body in a car at Logan International Airport and boarded a flight to Kenya.
Massachusetts officials said they were working with Kenyan authorities to locate him.
He was later arrested in a nightclub on January 30 after being on the run for three months.

On February 7, 2024, Kang’ethe slipped out of a police station cell, jumped into a matatu, and escaped toward Thika.
He was later re-arrested.
Kang’ethe had renounced his U.S. citizenship, which prompted the extradition process.
