Lulu Hassan makes bold post about Joho’s vetting, disables comments
Rashid Abdallah also shared a video on his social media platforms highlighting a key moment from Joho’s vetting session.
The former Mombasa governor was vetted in a highly-publicized interview by the national assembly in a session where he demystified some of the preconceptions about him.
One of the areas he tackled was the issue about his academic grades in High School where he was rumoured to have gotten a D-.
The charismatic and charming politician didn’t hide from the rumour and even leaned into it saying,
“I had a D (minus), but I have managed to turn that around,” he started.
He explained that his upbringing was challenging, and he had to contribute to paying for his school fees. At one point, his headteacher allowed him to leave school early to work and raise the necessary funds.
“I was the only student who was allowed to leave school early because I had to work,” he recounted.
The politician revealed that he now held two degrees and was on the verge of graduating with a Master’s degree from Harvard.
Joho added that he drew inspiration from Prof. Ali Mazrui, who overcame many challenges to become a renowned scholar.
The former Mombasa governor holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Business Administration.
