6-year-old boy in Nyamira dies after eating cassava » Capital News

NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 1 – Police in Nyamira are investigating an incident where a 6-year-old boy died after eating cassava for lunch.

According to reports, the parents of the boy and three other siblings also fell ill after consuming the cassava.

The family members experienced stomach aches, vomiting, and diarrhea later that evening after their meal.

They were promptly taken by concerned neighbors to Ekerenyo Hospital for initial treatment.

Subsequently, they were transferred to Nyamira General Hospital for further medical attention.

Tragically, at Nyamira Hospital, the youngest child, identified as Shadrack Mosigisi, passed away due to complications arising from the poisoning.
