Gospel singer Christina Shusho’s separation from her preacher husband John Shusho is something that even her deepest fans are trying to come to terms with.

In her Sunday, April 28, 2024 message, she invited fans to her church informing them they needed to worship.

Many responded saying they were not happy with her split from her husband, but socialite and businesswoman Jackeline Wolper urged her to stay strong.

“Tukutane Kesho Kanisani. The Dreamers Centre Fellowship,” said Shusho as Wolper added, “Utayashinda yote we love u😍”

The Dream Centre is the Church she launched after decamping from her husband’s church.

The Shusha Nyavu hitmaker reacted, “Thank you mama P ukweli utabaki kuwa ukweli. I love you right back.”

In June 2021, she was interviewed by Radio Jambo’s Massawe Japanni where the singer refused to address the rumours that at the time, the couple had split.

“I have heard a lot of rumours about me, there was a time it was said I was dead. There were also claims my bedroom photos had leaked, as well as people saying I am a mother of three,” she said.

The rumours had been gaining ground since 2020. Shusho said she does not advocate or advise anyone to consider divorce and breakups.

She said women should not stay in a toxic and painful relationship and that they are free to walk out if they can’t handle it.

“Let the rumours about me splitting with my husband be just that. I do not want to advise people to leave each other but there are circumstances when it gets too ugly and you cannot continue.

You are not supposed to live in pain. If you can tolerate pain then keep at it, but if you cannot, then let it end,” she pointed out.

Why President Ruto and I love Jalang’o https://spin-pesa.com/blog/why-president-ruto-and-i-love-jalango/ https://spin-pesa.com/blog/why-president-ruto-and-i-love-jalango/#respond Sun, 28 Apr 2024 11:16:49 +0000 https://spin-pesa.com/blog/why-president-ruto-and-i-love-jalango/

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has elaborated on why he and President William love Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor, also known as Jalang’o.

Speaking on Saturday at a women’s empowerment event organized by the legislator, Gachagua stated that their admiration for Jalang’o stems from his leadership with clear plans and dedication to his constituents’ interests.

Despite initial concerns about Jalang’o’s victory over their close friend to become Lang’ata MP, Gachagua stated their affection for him, citing his commitment to his people and his visionary approach.

“You elected a leader who has policies, plans, and vision, and our President has come to love this young man, and I have loved this young man even more because he has work plans and loves his people,” Gachagua said.

He explained that Jalang’o consistently seeks assistance from the President on development matters in his constituency. When unable to reach the President, Jalang’o turns to the deputy president for support.

“He is always at the President’s, and if he doesn’t find him, he comes to me for the development of Lang’ata,” Gachagua added.

The Deputy President addressed the women’s groups from Lang’ata constituency during a fundraising event at Nyayo Stadium, where he was invited by the Lang’ata MP as the chief guest.

Gachagua encouraged the women and residents of Lang’ata to stand by Jalang’o as their representative.

Jalang’o is among the opposition legislators who have chosen to collaborate with the Kenya Kwanza regime, defying their party leader.

This decision has drawn criticism, with Raila Odinga of Azimio calling for the resignation of all rebel ODM MPs and their subsequent re-election under parties aligned with Kenya Kwanza.

Other MPs facing similar challenges include Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda, Suba MP Caroli Omondi, Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda, and Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo.

Following their expulsion by ODM’s National Executive Committee for actions contrary to the party’s stance, these MPs have taken legal action to contest the decision.

NAIROBI, Kenya Apr 28 – As schools gear up for the second term reopening this week, the government is faced with the challenge of evacuating displaced families camping in schools.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua says the government will evacuate families sheltering in schools due to floods so as to pave the way for schools reopening.

Speaking on Saturday during a food distribution exercise in Mathare, Gachagua assured collaboration with Kenya Red Cross and the UN for a safe relocation process.

Government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura said over 131,000 displaced people are accommodated in 50 camps nationwide.

With flood-related fatalities surpassing 80 by April 28, 2024, Nairobi alone counts 32 deaths and 16,909 households displaced. Gachagua has confirmed the setup of three camps in Nairobi to facilitate relocation.

Gachagua outlined relocation plans for affected families, designating camps at Masinde Muliro ground, Mavoko Assistant Chief’s camp, and Kasarani. He emphasized the urgent need to vacate schools for reopening, ensuring children’s safety and access to education.

Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) received directives to repair damaged bridges to facilitate students’ commute.

The government has donated funds for educational materials, supporting students’ academic needs amid the crisis.

Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang however, says that while 64 schools were significantly impacted, national reopening delays would be selective, focusing on flood-affected regions.

Baba Talisha addresses malicious claims he was involved in Brian Chira’s death https://spin-pesa.com/blog/baba-talisha-addresses-malicious-claims-he-was-involved-in-brian-chiras-death/ https://spin-pesa.com/blog/baba-talisha-addresses-malicious-claims-he-was-involved-in-brian-chiras-death/#respond Sun, 28 Apr 2024 10:35:45 +0000 https://spin-pesa.com/blog/baba-talisha-addresses-malicious-claims-he-was-involved-in-brian-chiras-death/

Tiktoker Baba Talisha has broken his silence amid ongoing speculation surrounding the death of Brian Chira.

Despite it being clear that the late Brian Chira died in a road accident, some TikTok users have been emerging with various theories, attempting to find different reasons for the road accident.

Some have been making claims that Baba Talisha, the TikToker who was at the forefront of facilitating Brian Chira’s final journey, was involved in his death.

In a conversation with Mungai Eve, Baba Talisha broke his silence and said that those spreading such misleading information, perhaps wanting to disclose details of the funds he raised for Chira’s funeral, might not have even contributed a single cent.

“Watu wengi katika mitandao ya kijamii haswa TikTok, kila mtu ako na maoni yake. Kwa hiyo mimi nawaacha wagonganishe kwa maoni yao, wakisema tumekula pesa 8m, mimi nakubali tu. Wakiniita mwizi wa pesa za matanga, mimi nakubali tu. Mimi sina shida kabisa,” he said.

He also addressed some prominent names on TikTok alleging that he had a part to play in the late Chira’s untimely death.

“Mimi huwa sipendi kubishana na watu siku hizi, haswa watu wenye wanaongea, mtu anajaribu kuniulizia mambo ya uwajibikaji pesa, yeye mwenyewe hata hakuchanga hata shilingi. Yeye amejikita zaidi katika stori za sijui Chira aliuliwa, sijui alipigwa risasi. Si huo ushahidi wote, kuna ofisi za DCI, kuna vituo vya polisi.”

He finished by saying that these TikTokers maligning his name should take that evidence to the police,

“Si apeleke ushahidi kule aseme huyu mtu aliuliwa na mtu fulani. Hadi anakuja kusema eti mimi ndio niliua Brian Chira, unaona. Mpaka nakuja kushtuka. Ni kama anafurahia kwa sababu anaona Baba Talisha ndio gumzo sasa hivi, hiyo ndio njia anaweza kupata views. Kila siku ana’host watu TikTok akiniongelelea akinitusi,” Baba Talisha said.

DP Gachagua Urges Caution as Kenya Braces for More rain, floods » Capital News https://spin-pesa.com/blog/dp-gachagua-urges-caution-as-kenya-braces-for-more-rain-floods-capital-news/ https://spin-pesa.com/blog/dp-gachagua-urges-caution-as-kenya-braces-for-more-rain-floods-capital-news/#respond Sun, 28 Apr 2024 09:53:49 +0000 https://spin-pesa.com/blog/dp-gachagua-urges-caution-as-kenya-braces-for-more-rain-floods-capital-news/

NAIROBI, Apr 28 – Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has issued a stern warning to Kenyans, urging them to exercise caution amidst the ongoing floods. He emphasized the tragic consequences of disregarding safety measures, noting that some of the fatalities occurred due to individuals daring to cross flooded paths.

Gachagua urged citizens to prioritize safety and responsibility by avoiding flooded areas as the heavy rains persist across the country.

Kenya, along with two other East African nations, braces for another week of heavy rainfall, as forecasted by the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). Recent weeks have seen Kenya and its neighbours battered by stronger-than-usual rain, exacerbated by the El Nino weather pattern.

The devastating impact of these rains is evident, with flash floods submerging roads and neighbourhoods, leading to the displacement of more than 130,000 people across 24,000 households, as reported by government spokesman Isaac Mwaura. Tragically, six more lives have been lost in the last 12 hours, bringing the total fatalities to 76 by Saturday April 27, with 29 Kenyans injured and 19 reported missing.

Gachagua emphasized the importance of heeding government advisories and avoiding unnecessary risks during the floods. He urged citizens not to challenge the forces of nature and to prioritize their safety above all else. The ongoing floods have wreaked havoc on communities, resulting in the destruction of properties and infrastructure, and causing loss of lives and displacement of families.

According to the government’s spokesperson Isaac Mwaura, 50 camps have been set up across the country to accommodate over 131,000 displaced individuals. The death toll from the ongoing rains currently stands at 76, with all 47 counties affected by the floods, leading to widespread displacement and destruction.

In Nairobi alone, the death toll caused by the floods has risen to 32, with 16,909 households displaced so far. Rescue efforts have been underway, with the Kenya Red Cross conducting operations to save individuals at risk of being swept away by floodwaters. In various areas across the country, including Chokaa in Nairobi and Saka in Tana River County, rescue teams have evacuated individuals stranded by the floods to safer grounds.

As Kenya continues to grapple with the ongoing rains, IGAD warns of the likelihood of continued heavy rainfall and the persistent risk of flooding. The situation underscores the urgent need for coordinated efforts to mitigate the impact of the floods and ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.

100 al-Shabab fighters surrender in Somalia following amnesty offer » Capital News https://spin-pesa.com/blog/100-al-shabab-fighters-surrender-in-somalia-following-amnesty-offer-capital-news/ https://spin-pesa.com/blog/100-al-shabab-fighters-surrender-in-somalia-following-amnesty-offer-capital-news/#respond Sun, 28 Apr 2024 09:39:53 +0000 https://spin-pesa.com/blog/100-al-shabab-fighters-surrender-in-somalia-following-amnesty-offer-capital-news/

MOGADISHU, April 28 (Xinhua) — The Somali government confirmed on Saturday the surrender of 100 al-Shabab militants, following an amnesty offer by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

As the battle against the extremist group al-Shabab escalates nationwide, Somali National Army (SNA) forces recently accepted the surrender of militants from four regional states, according to the Ministry of Information, Tourism and Culture.

“Last week, 100 al-Shabab militants including leaders who have been long-term members of al-Shabab surrendered from Galmudug, Hirshabelle, Southwest and Banadir regions,” the ministry said in a statement issued in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.

In August 2023, Mohamud offered amnesty to al-Shabab militants as part of a strategy to further weaken the extremist group by removing them from the battlefield.

“The government is extending an amnesty offer as a warm welcome to all radicalized militants who choose to denounce and defect from the terrorist group,” the ministry said.

Despite the militants’ ongoing attacks on government institutions, army bases and hotels frequented by prominent individuals and government officials, government forces have taken control of major towns in central and southern Somalia as part of the president’s all-out battle against al-Shabab.

East Africa Braces for Continued Heavy Rains As Hundreds Killed By Floods » Capital News https://spin-pesa.com/blog/east-africa-braces-for-continued-heavy-rains-as-hundreds-killed-by-floods-capital-news/ https://spin-pesa.com/blog/east-africa-braces-for-continued-heavy-rains-as-hundreds-killed-by-floods-capital-news/#respond Sun, 28 Apr 2024 09:19:01 +0000 https://spin-pesa.com/blog/east-africa-braces-for-continued-heavy-rains-as-hundreds-killed-by-floods-capital-news/

NAIROBI, KENYA, APRIL 28 – Kenya, along with two other East African nations, braces for another week of heavy rainfall, as forecasted by the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).

Tragically, six more lives have been lost in the last 12 hours, bringing the total fatalities to 76, with 29 Kenyans injured and 19 reported missing.

In a recent statement on Sunday, IGAD highlighted regions spanning from central to western Kenya, northern Uganda, southern Ethiopia, and central Somalia, expecting intensified rainfall between April 27 and May 4, 2024. These areas remain at high risk of flooding, prompting IGAD to issue a cautionary advisory urging heightened vigilance among residents.

The relentless downpours have wreaked havoc on properties and infrastructure countrywide, causing loss of lives and displacing families. Recognizing the severity of the situation, IGAD stressed the importance of strict adherence to safety protocols and disaster preparedness measures to mitigate further harm.

Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, IGAD’s executive secretary, emphasized the need for enhanced regional cooperation in early warning systems to bolster the region’s resilience against climate change-related disasters. IGAD remains committed to collaborating with member states to address climate change through mitigation and adaptation strategies, emphasizing the significance of collective action in navigating extreme weather events.

As the region grapples with the persistent threat of heavy rainfall, Gebeyehu reiterated the necessity of unified efforts in confronting climate-related challenges, underscoring the pivotal role of cooperation in building a resilient future for generations to come. The impacts of El Nino extend beyond Kenya, with Burundi and Uganda also experiencing displacement and destruction due to heavy rains, further highlighting the urgent need for coordinated action in response to climate change.

In Burundi, a nation already facing economic challenges, approximately 96,000 people have been displaced by the relentless rains, according to reports from the United Nations and the government. Similarly, Uganda has witnessed heavy storms causing riverbanks to burst, resulting in confirmed deaths and displacements of several hundred villagers.

The El Nino weather pattern, characterized by increased heat globally, leads to drought in some regions and heavy rains in others. The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) noted in March that the current El Nino ranks among the five strongest ever recorded, further emphasizing the urgency of addressing climate change and its impacts.
