DP: Status of the economy attributed to economic transformation policies
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has attributed the thriving macroeconomic situation in Kenya to the progressive economic transformation policies initiated by President William Ruto.
Speaking in Mwatate, Taita Taveta County during a Thanksgiving service, the DP pointed out that inflation is at a record 2.7 pc, the lowest in 17 years.
Kindiki affirmed the government’s commitment to improving the livelihoods of Kenyans and called for patience while resolving the economic challenges through progressive economic policies.
“Progressively, the Government is resolving the economic challenges and improving the livelihoods of our people by boosting their household incomes. We thank the Kenyan citizens for their patience,” he said.
Kindiki also put on notice individuals seeking to use public funds meant for the government infrastructure development.
“The Government, with the guidance of President William Samoei Ruto is determined to complete all pending infrastructure development programmes and initiate new ones, and ensure prudent management of resources by cracking down on corruption and wastage,” he added.
The Deputy President was accompanied by MPs Lydia Haika (Woman Representative, Taita Taveta), Peter Shake (Mwatate), Carolyne Ng’elechei (Woman Representative, Elgeyo Marakwet), Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), John Kiarie ‘KJ’ (Dagoretti South), John Bwire (Taveta) and Geoffrey Ruku (Mbeere North), MCAs and other County leaders.
